• Journalist at Finger Lakes Community Newspapers • Web
site designer
Bill taught geology and
palentology at the University of Rochester for five years and did
paleoceanographic research for 13 years, going to sea on ships of
the Bedford
Institute
of Oceanography (Dartmouth, Canada), Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institute and the Ocean
Drilling
Program.
He was initially attracted to the sciences through natural history and
enjoys leading field trips to explore the natural landscape of the
Finger Lakes region.
He worked for two-and-a-half years as a reporter and editor for
Finger Lakes
Community Newspapers, before trying the corporate life briefly as a
technical writer. In July 2009 he went back to community journalism and
now thinks that town board meetings are not really that bad after all.
